It’s difficult to agree upon the right time to plant garlic. Honestly, I don’t even agree with myself. To find out, I made a little experiment with one of my garlic varieties, nicknamed “Tanja’s Tyrkiske Grønthandler”, an artichoke variety I guess.
I planted in october, january and march:
What I found out was, that if you like big garlic, autumn is perfect. Do you prefer garlic with a more neat look to them, january is better. Do you like to grow single clove garlic, march is the rigth timing.
The squares are 1x1cm.
And remember: this experiment was carried out one season with a single variety.
If somebody make similar experiments, please share your knowledge with the rest of us.
