We feed birds (and a mouse) during winter. Wood Pigeons rules out there, all smaller birds escape when it arrives, as it does regularly during a day. If the bread is not served early in the morning, it will stand there angry and impatient. Only a quick bread serving helps. They are rather greedy, swollowing the bread in lumps. When set, the blackbirds follow, and then the sparrows and other smaller birds. Now and then a mouse comes running, quickly pickup bread spilled on the ground and hurry back in hiding. The mouse is greedy too, getting fat during wintertime – in the end it might not be able to escape the neighbors cat!
