Summer solstice night, 21/6 22:39

Last night was the shortest in the year. Before going to bed I went out into the garden a made a snapshot. Tiny digital camera, no blitz, handhold and still light enough for a picture.
How I love the white nights.

Lilacs, moon and summernight

10pm, no flash, Lilacs and the moon

Last night I just couldn’t resist the view of lilacs and the old moon on the pale summernight sky. The pocket camera supported on left doorframe – I ought to have used a tripod. Lilacs have a wonderfull odeour, and the overhanging growth shadow for the sun at noon.

White nights – full nights of twilight – has started, easing the minds. Also the plants in the garden enjoy the extra light, photosynthesis can get very productive when sun is on the sky for 16½ hour like today, and daylength still increase untill summersolstice.
